they have given me a treasure chest filled with pearls of great price. It's almost Christmas..so I want to share these gifts with you...
B.and A are like LOTS OF OTHER 1ST GRADE BOYS......
1.they hate having their picture taken
2.they love their Mom
3.they love their Dad
4 They LOVE FISHING

Every Sunday.. Before we begin the lesson. . I ask all my little Presbyterians what they did the previous week.. How was their Saturday?? How is their family?? Is there any one in their family that needs prayer..🙏🙏
And B.and A .. Usually give me a fishing report.. ( even when they HAD. A NON-FISHING WEEK.. I try to " work it into the conversation. " cuz . Their PASSION BLESSES ME....
And....
These boys always find a Way. To " work their Mom and Dad " into the conversation.. They love love love their sweet mom( see #2 above) .. And they love love love their Dad..( see #3 above) .. And.. I ESPECIALLY LOVE HEARING ABOUT THEIR DAD... I love how they call him " daddy" . the term I used( and still use today sometimes ) for my Father.. .
Whenever B. And A START a sentence with " my Daddy ".. Their eyes light up.. Their smiles get brighter.. And the love, appreciation, and respect they feel for him fills our Sunday School room with a sweetness that touches my soul... And yes. Gives me WATERY eyes.
Yes.
They talk about how he....
takes them FISHING. ... and how he has taught them to cast.. And set the hook at just the right time.. They don't leave out any details.. With their " play by play " account of their fishing day. " it's as if .I am with them... At the lake. casting.. And setting the hook at just the right time. ... What a treasure!
They tell me about the special breakfasts that EACH OF THEM GETS WITH DADDY AT WAFFLE HOUSE from time to time.. One on one time with Daddy... That's a treasure for them.. A pearl of great price..
But.. When they tell me about the way their Daddy takes care of them...
..watches over them..
Loves them and no matter how bad things may seem.. Their Daddy assures them he will help them
.. He reminds them he will ALWAYS LOVE THEM. .
B.and A. See their Daddy as a tender Father. And a mighty warrior . Fighting for THEM ..and their family .
. And yes. Their Daddy TEACHES them about Jesus and His WORD......
. That's when my soul smiles. And my heart dances. That's when their Passion and love and joy shines BRIGHTEST...
I think often every day about B. And A and how they Love. Respect , appreciate and honor their Daddy..
They want ME. ( AND ALL THE WORLD ) to know how much they love Him.. and how they have the most Wonderful..kind ..wise. Generous and Tender Father.
and how they know... Without a doubt. That their Daddy loves them...forever... ...
I think about the One that Jesus called " Abba " Father.. He is my Heavenly Father . the Creator of the universe.. Who loves me . and He takes care of me. He provides for me..He watches over me .. Scholars disagree about whether " Abba" should be translated " daddy" but . ALL AGREE it is a " term of intimacy ".. It denotes affection, tenderness ,and trust..yes. Our Heavenly Father is the King of Kings.. A MIGHTY Warrior. But.. He loves us with a tender love.. Like a " daddy"..
He showed us that love. When He sent His only Son Jesus.. His treasure .. To this earth. .. To be our " treasure " the Greatest gift. He lived a perfect life..and died and rose again to pay for our sins. That we might be part of His FAMILY of Love
. my prayer is that I will follow the example of B.and A.....
That I will ALWAYS BE WILLING to tell others about my WONDERFUL MARVELOUS.. Kind ..loving and Tender Father.. .. The mighty King . the Holy and mighty Abba Father. Who loves me with the sweet tenderness. Of a " Daddy "
